why traders switch from spreadsheets

Three things every other journal misses.

Stop being seduced by the entry.

Outcome-first flip

Every thumbnail in your library shows what happened *after* the trigger — not the chart you screenshotted at entry. Your A+ setup last Tuesday looks like the chop-fest it really was. Pattern matching on truth.

Stats your gut already suspects.

Style-Fit, no AI

We rank every tag combo you actually use — setup × session × instrument × regime — by expectancy. The math tells you that London + pullback-continuation is your A-game and that NY breakouts are quietly bleeding you. No black-box ML. Honest aggregation.

Hypothetical edge is not real edge.

Live + Study, never mixed

Tag a TradingView bar-replay setup as study, log a real trade as live. Same UI, same tags, same flip — but stats sit in separate buckets. Your cherry-picked 80% replay win rate can't sneak into your live expectancy.

what changes after week 2

You stop guessing.
The library tells you.

01

You'll find your A-setups in week 2.

Most traders think they know their best setup. After 20 trades tagged through TradeDeck, the Style-Fit panel ranks every tag combo by expectancy.

The London-pullback you thought was your A-game might be a coin flip. The 3am-volatility-fade you take occasionally might be your biggest edge. This isn't optimization. It's discovery.

02

You'll catch yourself on tilt before the loss.

Tag every entry with how you felt taking it: by-the-book, rushed, FOMO, revenge, patient. After 50 closed trades, the per-emotion expectancy is brutal.

Tilt trades aren't 60% losers — they're 40% losers with -1.8R losses and +0.5R wins. Once you've seen that math on your own trades, the next "revenge" thought feels different.

03

You'll stop falling in love with entry charts.

Every chart looks beautiful at entry. That's why you took the trade. The grid in TradeDeck shows the outcome chart by default — what actually happened after you pressed buy.

Tap any card to flip back to the entry view, but the truth is what you see first. Pattern recognition rewires when the input is reality, not anticipation.

dual mode · same UI

Practice and trade.
Keep them separate.

Bar-replay practice is real practice — but it's not real edge. TradeDeck gives study mode its own stat bucket so your hypothetical wins can't pollute your live expectancy.

When you go live, you don't change apps. The same library, the same tags, the same flip. You just toggle the source. New traders build a study library first, then graduate in place.

two flows · zero friction

Some traders log every price.
Others just know they won.

The capture modal handles both. One toggle inside Trade details. We remember which one you picked.

negative space, by design

What TradeDeck
will never become.

Most journals add bloat over time. Signal services. Copy trading. AI "insights." Social feeds. We're publishing this list so future-us can't cave to the "just one more feature" pressure.

AI insights or auto-tagging

The user is the intelligence. We rank tag combos by expectancy with plain math. No black-box ML pretending to find your edge.

Copy trading or signal services

We're a journal, not a broker. Your library is yours. We don't surface other people's trades into yours.

An infinite social feed

Public profiles exist. Endless scroll, follower counts, like-driven dopamine? Not the product.

Broker-tied dashboards

We don't take a cut for steering you to a broker. CSV export keeps your data portable forever.

Premium tier paywalls on the analyzer

Style-Fit, goal bar, future outlook are all in the free tier. You pay for library volume, not for the math.

Bloat for retention

If a feature doesn't help you trade better, it doesn't ship. You'll know we kept this promise by what's missing six months from now.

questions we hear

Honest answers.

I don't track entries and exits — I just know the dollar outcome. Is this for me?+

Yes. The capture modal has a Simple mode: pick Win / Break-even / Loss, type the dollar amount, save. We compute R from your dollar risk (starting equity × risk %).

When you do want to track price levels, flip to Comprehensive in the same modal. The toggle is sticky — pick once, it stays.

How does the free tier actually work? Will I hit a paywall mid-trade?+

Free is 50 setups total — not per month. Every feature is unlocked. Style-Fit, goal bar, future outlook, share cards, custom tags, public profile (Pro-only). Once your library hits 50, new captures pause until you upgrade or archive old ones — but everything you've already saved stays viewable and exportable.

Casual traders can run on Free for months. Active daily traders typically hit 50 in 2-4 weeks.

How is this different from Edgewonk or TradeZella?+

TradeDeck is photo-first. Other journals are spreadsheet-first with screenshots bolted on. The grid in TradeDeck shows the outcome chart of every past trade as a thumbnail by default — pattern recognition is the primary review tool, not a metadata report.

We're also 3-7× cheaper, separate live from study stats (none of them do), and explicitly never add AI features. The whole product is opinionated about what NOT to build.

Does it track fees, slippage, and commission?+

In Comprehensive mode, you can enter your Actual P&L next to the computed R outcome. The delta — Computed − Actual — is your fees + slippage for that trade, displayed inline.

The actual P&L is stored on every setup, so per-instrument and per-time-period fee leakage views are coming.

What happens when I archive a tag? Do my old trades lose it?+

No. Archiving removes the tag from new-setup pickers and the filter bar, but every past setup keeps its tags. Historical Style-Fit math stays intact. Restore the tag any time. There is no hard delete.

Can I export my data?+

Yes — and we don't gate it. CSV of all your setups + ZIP of all your screenshots, on every plan, anytime. We're self-hosted with no broker partnerships. You're never locked in.

What's the lifetime deal?+

Launch week only. 200 seats at $199 each. Lifetime Pro — no recurring charge, ever. If we raise prices later, your seat is locked in. The proceeds bankroll our first 6 months of infra so we don't have to take outside money.

Why no AI?+

Because the value of a trade journal is the intelligence YOU build by tagging and reviewing your own decisions. AI tagging removes the act that creates the edge. We rank your data with plain math (Style-Fit). What's broken in your trading is best discovered by you, on your own data, in plain English.

It's also a permanent scope boundary. We will not add AI features. Read it as a forcing function — we have to make the manual flow good enough that you don't miss what we never built.

Start with one drop.

50 setups free, no card. When the library compounds past 50, $49/yr keeps it growing forever — or claim a lifetime seat while they last.
